i am not sure of the chancesbut its not really likely to happen to a 15 year old because it takes a build up and teens are usually busy and keep their bodies moving

Hundreds of thousands of kids now, mostly caused by obesity, have type 2 diabetes. By kids I mean 13 and under.

the chances are very low. Diabetes complications take years of very poor blood sugars to cause problesm to show up. Are you sure the 15 year old is a type 2 and not a type 1? Though the cases of type 2 has risen in children due to obesity and sedentary lifestyles.
