How did I contact scabies. What is the incubation from time of contact to out break.

apparently you get it from being in contact with anywhere that scabies have been - it's highly infectious. Old people in nursing homes apparently get it a lot and then everyone and everything has to be disinfected.

I think it's about 4 days. If you touch someone / something which was contacted with scabies, you will see symptoms within 4 days.
Scabies is caused by a mite.(Sarcopties scabie)It is apparently spread via direct contact,sharing linen and cloths of the infected person and recently it is accepted that, a close contact without obvious physical touch can also spread the infection.Once, the mite( usually a female mite) enters your body, it finds the suitable places like space between fingers and toes,groin, armpit,and wrist to lay eggs.The eggs hatch after 3 weeks underneath the skin and thereafter the person will experience those horrible itching that make him bleed as well.So, three weeks is the incubation period.Don`t worry, it is completely curable .A lots of ointments are available and your doctor may also prescribe medication to alleviate the symptoms of itching.Hope, it helps.Regards.
