has anybody got a dog that has had meningitis more than once. My 2 year old lurcher had it last year and i'm concerned something may be happening again, she's not unwell just a bit wobbly on her feet. I cant find much info about after effects on dogs and how to spot if she's getting it again. Any info would be helpful. It's not really helpful going to the vets as they rarely see cases of meningitis. It's a specialist thing.

On the whole I agree with blk_sheep, but you might also try ringing one of the major vetinerary hospitals - I know there is at least one in London and one in Liverpool, I don't know about other countries. They tend to have more in the way of specialists.

The best thing to do would be to ask your vet to reference you to a specialist in canine meningitis. Even if he's in another town or something, you can still call him for advice, or find a way to get in touch of him, he's probably the most appropriate person to help.Another option would be to go to the same vet who treated your dog of meningitis last time... he probably has some sort of experience by now...Best of luck to you and your dog :)
