Ok, I am a nursing student so I should know the answer to this but....I dont. My sone has been having frequent bowel movements (4-6 times a day) and has been excessively gassy for the last 2 weeks. I have had him at the Dr and he said to wait, because it may be something viral. I changed him this afternoon and it was a yellow color, not mucus of anything. I will be getting him back into the Dr. on Monday...any ideas of what may be going on? I was thinking lactose intolerance or IBS...I'm just not sure. Thanks for the answers so far, Let me add also that he is playing and acting fine, people who would see him would see no problem.
I would take him of diary products until you consult your doctor about this problem. and make sure you get good answers from him. also make your son drink lots of water to help detoxify his body. keep him in a cool, comfortably environment and limit any stress he might have. Keep him happy. If you need anymore help feel free to askEmail: zacharyomalley@yahoo.com

Could this point to a food intolerance? I think I might keep a food/poop journal on him for a few days and see if you can connect any dots. It may give the doc something to go on, too. At two, he could have a wheat/gluten problem - that was my first thought.

I agree with both.... a good possibility of dairy or wheat/ gluten intolerance.....
