Try using toothpaste and lather it on the area that can sometimes cause the pain to subside, or you can take salt water and swish it around the area to get the same if not better effect.

Go to your doctor for some stronger painkillers...just until you get to the dentist!

ibuprofen is the best. IF you take 4 each 200 mg ibuprofen that is equivalent of one prescription strength.

First of all, I thought you wrote heroin and it is taking me a while to stop laughing. Try Abesol and Advil.

There are some toothache gels like Oragel that help. You can also try warm salt water. Also, try rinsing with a solution of 50% hydrogen peroxide and 50% water for 1 minute. When you have tooth pain, there is usually an infection, so the peroxide will slow down the infection until you get to the dr. or dentist.Good luck!

I am a dental hygienist, the only advice I can offer is to stick with NSAID's (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) such as Advil or Aleeve. They will help to kick down the inflammation, but that is it. You need to get to a dentist fast, at that point they can prescribe you something to help with infection and then treat the infected tooth. Helpful tip, if it is sensitive to hot, cold, pressure..it will need either a root canal or an extraction to eliminate the problem. Just to give you a heads up! Hope you feel better soon!

Try Brandy or Vodka soaked on a cloth or cotton ball, keep it placed on your tooth for a few minutes. Another thing to try along with the pain killers is crush up an IBprofen and rub it on the tooth (but warning this tastes horrible!) Oragel might also help numb the area around the tooth.
