sex pain with an iud?

I have had an iud for about 6 months now. I have the non-hormonal one that lasts for 10 years. Sex is uncomfortable in most positions with this iud. Sometimes it can even hurt. My hormones are through the roof and my period lasts forever. I am 33 and I can't take anything hormornal, like the pill, or patch or ring- NOTHING. So it was either the IUD or tubal. Has anyone else had painful/uncomfortable sex with the IUD? Thanks!

I had an IUD put in and had it taken out the same day is was so painful. Those things have to be sized just right or they cause contraction pains by stretching out your uterus (or something). It was horrible for me!

Well what about condoms or a vasectomy (assuming your with a long-term partner/spouse)? Maybe the IUD isn't fitting properly, make an appointment to get it checked. Good luck
