I know that building muscle burns calories but i also know muscle weighs more than fat so i am afraid it will make me look like i am not losing weight and i will get frustratedi am on atkins diet does this do this w. atkins?

I tried Atkins without an exercise program and lost NO weight at all. Since the diet requires tons of protein, I would think if you exercise you will gain muscle quickly, but this is a very good thing. Yes, muscle weighs more than fat, but it also helps you burn calories while the body is at rest. Try to just pay attention to how your clothes are fitting rather than the number on the scale. And don't get discouraged even if you aren't feeling or seeing the results, because that's what I did! Good Luck!

Yes, your best bet is to measure yourself so that even if your scale doesn't go down you can still see that you are losing.I've gone through a couple of periods where I didn't lose any weight, but people kept commenting on how much I was shrinking.Even if you're not losing weight, no point in being frustrated and quitting. At least you're not gaining.
