reflux? I am scheduled to get the procedure done next week...if anyone has had it done I am interested to know your short and long term thoughts on it.

In my humble opinion, unless you have a torn esophogus or hiatal hernia then you may be sorry to have this proceedure. If they apply then you need to have that fixed. My friend had it done and it is not very effective. Change your diet quit eating fried foods, and sugars. Take a good digestive enzyme (seazyme is one) don't eat fast food, stay away from dairy for a while. Try this for 30 days and drink lots of water, no sodas, or even juices. You stomach is rebelling at what you eat. Having an operation does not remove the cause, diet change is what is the most beneficial.
