I take have xanax that just kinda sits in my bedside table. I take it when im going to have a panic attack, or after. But can they work for stress? How often and how many can you take? I'm pretty sure they are 3-5mgs.no its not a diet pill, its anti-anxiety

i also keep xanax on hand for anxiety and yes they help with stress, but you have to be careful with them as they are highly addictive. On my script it says take one tablet twice daily, i try to just take one in the evenings if im really anxious about things so i end up taking a few a month and havent had a problem with addiction.

If you are having a stressful situation the Xanax can help. Try taking one pill, wait an hour, then take another if your doctor told you you could. But Xanax is highly addictive. I had a friend who went through a lot of pain getting off it. Be careful.

I wouldn't take them for stress, just panic attacks. They are a controlled substance and should not be abused.
