why after a hyditaform molar pregnancy are you advised not to concieve for 6/12 months? what could the outcome be if you concieved 3 months later? could it be risk to mother or fetus?

Although the likelihood is small, there's a real risk of malignant disease developing and the increase in pregnancy hormones this would cause can't be distinguished from those of a real pregnancy. So if you conceive at 3 months say, it could be another molar pregnancy and due to an increase in pregnancy hormones, it would be difficult to identify whether is was a molar pregnancy or real foetus. And this time, if it was molar, it could be malignant. Please follow your doctor's advice and good luck for the future. My first pregnancy was molar and I now have a very healthy 8 year old daughter.

Hi, I had one of these a few years ago.The reason you should not get pregnant is because it can turn cancerous and kill you, and it is a rapid growing cancer. It can also make the next pregnancy a higher risk of becoming molar also. Please wait. I know its hard, but I did and fell pregnant straight away with my daughter who is now nearly five years old.

Molar pregnancy is the only pregnancy that can lead to cancer. The hCg levels must be monitored in order to exclude this possibility. Please read: http://www.angelfire.com/journal/molarpregnancy/, this is a website supporting women and parents who experienced molar pregnancy, it has lots of information on the subject. You can Email them with more questions.Good luck...
