No, you should see a doctor. Prescription medications work very well for depression.

Herbal supplements only do more harm. Just get over your problems and take them like a man. Everyone has a bad day, it's rather stupid to do nothing about it and make yourself feel worse. She's right, make sure you get the right medication though. Because some meds make you even more depressed, and make you want to kill yourself.

I'm sorry to hear that. Being depressed is hard enough to handle without having to worry that you can't get treated by a PhysicialnHowever, you should really see a Doctor, there may be a physical reason for your depression. Also all anti-depressants including the natural ones have side effects and you need a Physician to monitor it.A good place to learn how to get free help is to call your local suicide hotline. They have a list of free resources in your city or town to treat depression. You don't have to be suicidal to contact the suicidal hotline, just tell them you are depressed and you can't get treatment.

If your depressed play computer games that amuse you. If you like those shoot em up it would be an excellent choice. I prefer cs (counter strike). xD

by eating nutritionally sound foods, staying hydrated, getting some form of exercize, whether it be walking, dancing, something. and get out in the fresh air and sunshine for at least ten minutes each day, just soaking it in. get a sunlamp if you can't have real sun.i've heard the st john's wort one, i've also heard vitamin b's ,esp b12but, i take scrips, too. if you can get to a dr , i'd at least consider meds as an option. what about a walk-in clinic?

the only one i kno is st john's wort and i started takin it like a week ago bc i have depression too. im not sure if it works bc i just started but what harm could come from trying. i also think it has to do with what you think. so if you think the pill is gonna work then it will bc your making youself feel better.its like the placebo effect so i think it will work.

I like this question because it shows some courage and wisdom. Many times depression is simply caused by malnutrition, because the body has a hard time assimilating certain vitamins or the diet lacks the sources of vitamins. In Europe, depression is treated with light therapy, where a patient is taken to a room that is white and flooded with bright light. You just sit there for some time. There are actually vitamins that you can get from light. If you go in the sun every day for an hour a day, it can heal you of many ills. The UV rays are not all harmful in small gentle quantities. The UV rays enter the retina through the eyes and stimulate the pituatary gland in the middle of your brain. That gland controls and regulates all the other glands in your body. Direct sun, especially in the morning, is very good for depression and has so many benefits. Eat healthy.B vitamins from natural food sources, help combat the effects of stress. Nutritional/brewers yeast is VERY full of good B vitamins and can be added to many foods, like soups, popcorn, and rice.Brown rice is high in B vitamins. Brocoli and other green vegetables are great for combating stress. A very uplifting depression fighter is Oranges!!You can buy %100 pure orange oil and mix it with water and spray around the house or put in your hair. There are many different kinds of aroma therapy that are uplifting.Just eating good organic raw oranges is very very good for depression.Rose water has the highest recorded frequency of aroma energy and is extremely uplifting.Writing prayers to God or just Personal letters to God is very helpful. Saying prayers and singing is also very uplifting.Oh and I almost forgot! HELPING other people is extremely good for depression!Good luck!
