well you should consult your doctor if you have stabbing pains in your backbut i think it may be a muscle sprain in the backmaybe with your diaphragm or it could be a hernia for all i knojus talk to doctor

It could be pleurisy-if it hurts when you breath deep. Try alieve. Doubt Pneumonia unless you have fever and chills then you need a x ray to diagnose. also may be a rotated rib which is causing muscle pain, then you would want a physical therapist or some massage therapist to check you out
