Hepatitis E (known as HEV) is primariliy seen in third world countries and is mostly spread through contaminated drinking water and food. According to the World Health Organization "Hepatitis E is a waterborne disease, and contaminated water or food supplies have been implicated in major outbreaks. Person-to-person transmission is uncommon. There is no evidence for sexual transmission or for transmission by transfusion."Epidemics of hepatitis E have been reported in Central and South-East Asia, North and West Africa, and in Mexico, especially where fecal contamination of drinking water is very common.If you have it though, just to be on the safe side you should probably avoid any intimate contact with another person until it's cleared up.
