Dry air. Happene to me all the time. I went and bought a humidifier for my home and since then i have had no nose bleeds.

most likely with allergy and sinus problems so prevalent in summertime the blood vessels in your nose are becoming irritated and enlarged, these vessels are close to the skins surface so it is easy to break them, thus causing a nose bleed - changes in humidity and temp throughout night can cause this too...

When I was younger (ages 5 till 14) I got nose bleeds all the time. I finally went to the doc. and he said the vessels in my nose were to big and when a little moisture got in my nose the vessels cracked and it bled. It could be the same thing you never know. I did get it fixed and it hasn't bled since.
