divorced as many times or more than King Henry VIII of England? Here it says that Brigham, 2nd President of the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints was divorced and separated from 12 of his 51 women and Henry VIII only had 6 wives. But they both started churches so that they could have more women. It's amazing everything these men had in common and everything they did in their power to have more women.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brigham_Younghttp://tudorhistory.org/wives/

One glaring difference is that Brigham Young practiced polygamy - he had multiple wives at the same time - and that this practice was allowed by the LdS Church at the time.Another glaring difference is that Brigham didn't have any of his wives killed.

Brigham Young didn't start the LDS church. He did have a couple of his wives who asked for a divorce and he gave it to them. But, he never killed any of his wives, which Henry can't say. What's really weird? Henry VIII broke from the RCC to form the Anglican church, so he could divorce his wives. But, today, if one is married in the Anglican church, and divorced, the church does NOT recognize the divorce!!!

Brigham Young was divorced from some of his wives. This is one demonstration that women were not enslaved in polygamy. The book `Mormon Polygamy' describes the mores of the times well. Also, Brigham Young did not start a church to have more women. Joseph Smith started a church because he was commanded to by God and Jesus Christ.
