pregnant and i get a rash on my arms when i play with him.? well i have had my cat for 3yrs and i am 3ths pregnant and ever since i found out everytime i play with him i break out in an ugly rash on my arms and its all red and itches. what do u think it is?? what should i do?

sounds like your allergic to him. it may come right after you give birth so you may have to wear long sleeves or gloves untill you give birth. you should see a skin specialist or doctor to make sure.

It sounds like you have developed an allergy to the cat or litter you use. There is nothing wrong with having a cat around babies, they won't suffocate them, or drink milk out of the baby's mouth, those are all old wives tales. Just dont change the litter yourself while preg.Check with your doc, to verify if it is an allergy. Or here's a quick test i was told to do. If you press on a red spot, and its white when you remove your finger, but returns to red, it is just a contact rash, and no cause for concern, it will go away on its own.just try not to scratch, use lotion or aloe or hydrocortizone for the itching

Not sure about the rashes but if you have a cat and are pregnant it is VERY important that you do not go near and/or empty out their litter box. There is a risk of contracting Toxoplasmosis which is not only dangerous to you, but especially towards your baby and can lead to stillbirth.
