My father-in-law had melanoma on the top of his head, had one surgery but chose to ignore going back for a second one, and he only lasted about a year after that. But he never would do any kind of treatment for it. Depends on how long your loved one has had it, and if he has been treated all along. I believe melanoma is the most deadly of the cancers, though, so I think you should prepare yourself for the worst, unfortunately. At least you will have time to be with your loved one and try to get in some quality time together. Don't be afraid to talk to the doctor, and if he says there's not long, call a hospice and make arrangements to use their services. That's what they're there for, and they are very good at making the end more comfortable and as easy on everyone as possible.

I understand what you are going through. My husband has metastastic melanoma. It started on the back and spread to the liver and brain. There is nothing they can do only offer very strong chemo, which will do nothing only make him very ill. A friend who was given 6 months to live from a brain tumour, told us about a book she followed using CC/FO and suppliments also veggie diet(she is now cancer free). We bought the book and we have been following that. Since we have been doing it my husband is feeling better. He is working full time! He had quite a lot of melanoma spots coming out all over about 12 in total. We have not seen any since doing this protocol. We both feel very possitive. The book is called Cancer Free by Bill Henderson. If you type this in your search on the net a lot of info will come up. Its worth a try Good Luck!
