It dependS. Have you taken opiate based narcotics before? I was in pain management for degenerative spine disease and three ruptured disc's. The issue with pain management is eventually you will always have to increase your levels of opiates. I was on Methadone for pain and (NOT A JUNKIE) it is great but you must really be careful. can you tolerate your pain now? Do you have to pull a 8 hour shift, also what type of work do you do. I had to get off 200mg's of prescribed methaone for pain, I just didn't want to be 60 and on 500mg's a day. I am completely off it now. The thing is, once you are physically dependant on drugs and they wear off, you feel 1,000,000 times worse. The withdrawal is horrible. If you take exactly as you are supposed to and gradually increase(As you will not have a choice) it can be done, but do you want to be a junkie. I am extremely versed on opiates and am willing to help anyone, heatishellinflorida@yahoo.com. there is too much too consider to write here. and I don't know your situation. nor what you took etc. DON'T TOUCH ULTRAM!!!!!

Honestly they just dont want to rush into a medical procedure they cant correct. Give it time and be patient. I hate how you have to see a specialist for everything these days. I mean i want to go to one doctor not see 2 or 3. It is very frustrating, but i am sure they have your best interest (your health) in mind.
