well if she had a passaport then you go to mexico and get her passoport and show it to the people ithink it whould work.

Firstly, I am so sorry for your loss & this issue that complicates your sorrow.I've never been in this situation so my only advice would be to go there to straighten it out.More info on the "problems" you're encountering may be helpful for a better answer. Best Wishes on resolution.

It is one of the regular duties of the consulate to help with this kind of problem.

I am very sorry for your loss, but Charlie is right, check the page out.The Consulate will be able to help you and issue a US Death Certificate (you need the local death certificate). All costs will be paid by your family, unless she especifically bought insurance for it (like cruise ships carry that insurance, some hotels do, even by using some credit cards).good luck, there is much papework to be done.
