Influenza is the common cold, and pneumonia is fluid on the lungs, and is dangerous.

The primary difference is that influenza (the flu) is caused by a virus, so once contracted, there is no cure. You gotta let the virus run it's course, and all you can do is try to keep yourself comfortable.Pneumonia is caused by a bacteria, and usually it is treated with antibiotics. If your mom has pneumonia, please get her to a doc so that she can get some antibiotics. Some pneumonias are quite contagious, so be very clean, wash your hands, disinfect with lysol spray.
