my dr. prescribed zantac for my son when he was only 4 months old, for him it didnt work. he had an upper gi done which revealed that he had an immature digestive system, they told us to stick it out and he would catch up soon. so i would ask your dr.

Try using a different formula. There is one that is really good for babies with acid reflux, but I can't remember the name of it. Ask your Dr. or health department.

My baby had many problems. The doctor that he was going to told us he had allergies. So we changed all his food went back through the whole process of trying one at a time then waiting a few days then on with the next one. Then we changed formula because they said he was allergic to that, when we did he quit eating. They had him on breathing treatments since he was 8 weeks old for " resp. infections" but he was never getting any better. I changed doctors (7 months later) and they did a chest x-ray the first day and found out that he had acid reflux. They put him on Zantac. He was on it for 3 1/2 months and they did another x-ray and it was gone. But after that he still had a cough and runny nose alot, along with numerous ear problems. Then we finally had tubes put in both ears and had his adnoids removed and now he is a perfectly healthy 1 1/2 year old. It does take some time but stay patient and look out for any other symptoms. It will get better.

my daughter had this, she would VIOLENTLY throw up her milk, out her nose, mouth, everything, coughing gagging, the first few times was scary then i got accustomed to it, but it scared everyone else. talk to your dr about a new formula. my daughter was put on alimentum and it helped alot. she slept sittin up in her carrier, after eating. try burping more often. after feedings try not to jostle the baby around too much, can sometimes make it worse also. keep the bulb syringe around to help clean her out after an "episode". best thing to do is talk to your dr, if he/she doesnt seem to help GET ANOTHER opinion, there is no need to make a baby suffer thru this.
