Does prevacid affect the birth control pill?

My doctor just put me on prevacid -- will this alter my birth control at all? (I'm on Ortho Tricyclen Lo)

Overall, No. But if you take them together it is always a possibility that the prevacid can alter the absorption of the birth control pill since it is altering the digestive process, but it shouldn't alter the effectiveness.Prevacid is a once a day (normally) and so is the BC pill. I wouldn't worry about it, but just to be overly cautious you can take one of them in the morning and one of them at night.
