tied or hubby having vastecotmy? I have recently been hearing about the Essure procedure being done instead of having your tubes tied.Has anyone had it done? What are the benefits/risks to having it done rather than tubes tied? What is the recuperation period like? Is anyone planning on having it done after their baby is born and why did you choose to have it done?
i have the mirena IUD, it's not permanent but it lasts for up to 5 years...

I know someone that had that done (or something very similar). She had it done because she has a condition where when she gets cut she gets very large exaggerated scarring, internally and externally. It's a real problem not just cosmetically.I don't know much about the risks other that what the website says. However it isn't reversible because it damages so much of the fallopian tubes.

I don't have any experience with it but check out their FAQ site http://www.essure.co.uk/consumer/c_faq.aspx. It should answer most of your questions.
