...muscle at night? I was sleeping with the air-conditioner on last night. At about 5 in the morning, I felt as though my calf muscle snapped like when you over-stretch rubber bands. I could not apply any pressure on my left foot, could not straighten my leg and could not bend it fully. I tried to go back to sleep in a "sitting" position. Anyone can provide a cure or remedy to this problem and any prevention tips?I am still walking with a slight limp to work. The muscle still feels tight in that sense

well I to suffer from pain in my leg like that. I will say that I've found that not having your covers tucked in tight helps relieve the pressure on your feet. Also cutting back on carbs really helped me.

hydrate yourself - a lot of time muscle spasm/pain is caused by a lack of water. If it keeps up, call your doctor to rule out anything more significant.
I've had this same type of problem with muscles getting cold or a simple stretch in bed when you first wake up. I've resolved a majority of this by taking a calcium supplement and doing more stretching throughout the day.If your already doing this, ask your doctor or nurse to see if you can do anything that may require more!:>)

calcium deficiancy causes that also mine does that and dr said take magnesium 250mg. 2xdaily also the calves could be potassium you can eat bananas if you are taking a water pill like lasix or something you need to have your blood checked often its dangerous water pills takes all the potassium and minerals out of your body and can kill ya so at least eat bananas it will help the potassium
