Has hypnotherapy helped you with depression?

Has anyone tried this and has it helped - please no silly answers as i am in need of serious advice

I took a course in hypnotherapy, and I thought it was all fake. It may have been a poor instructor, poor technique, or shortcuts that don't work. First of all, you have to believe it will help you. You have to have faith in your therapist ( as a medical person only). There is a lot more that I could say, but the course I took was all a well organised plan of pretend sequenses.
