failure? Friday morning my pup was diagnosed with parvo. By yesterday he was put back on solid food and water. He seemed to be doing fine. This morning, however, I just got woke up by the sounds of him choking (sounded like a cat coughing up a hair ball). Can somebody please help?

Call the vet- if they aren't open call and emergency 24 hour vet line.

My pomeranian does the same thing. He breathes heavy through his nose and coughs the same way. I have taken my dog to a vets, and he had drops put in his nose which helped him stop. Still take him to a vets.

Have you checked his vitals. Push in on his gums, when you release you will see a whitish color when you release, count 3 seconds and the gums should go back to normal. If it take longer or if the gums are pale, he is anemic. Take his temp, children ear thermoniters work great. Call your vet and tell them what is going on. If they don't want to see you, and his vitals are off or if you feel your dog is getting worse go to the ER. Parvo can turn into pneumonia quickly and time is of the essence. Because Parvo is contagious some vets don't want them in their clinics, find one who will see him NOW. Parvo can quickly turn into a disaster for your dog.
