her a lesbian? So, my best friend, Sue, whom I've grown up with, and has her share of boyfriends, is now dating a lesbian. We'll call her Barb. Anyway, Sue has always been a really sweet girl, popular, and always a really fun person to be around. We're seniors now, and she started hanging out with Barb our junior year. People suspected something was going on but never knew. Then I found out they were dating, but it was still a secret. So once they broke up, I thought it was over with. But, now they've been hanging out a lot more and came out as a couple. They hold hands and kiss in the hallway. Now everyone at school is like shocked that "Sue is a lesbian". But she has told me she doesn't think she is gay. Or Bi, at that. That she only has feelings for Barb, no other girls. And Barb looks like a lot like a guy and dresses like one too. So Sue thinks of her as a guy. I know they make out, but I'm not sure if they do other stuff. When will I/she know if she is a lesbian? Or bi?

I would think that Sue has conflicted feelings about weather or not it's OK for her to be a lesbian. Being with a girl that she can think of as a guy makes it easier for her. At some point she'll except who she is. But to answer your question, yes Sue is lesbian.

Sexuality is a spectrum with str8 at one end, totally gay at the other and bi in the middle. Your sexuality is defined by who you are attracted to. What turns you on. If some women turn her on, then she's probably somewhere on the spectrum between bi and str8 but closer to str8. I was somewhat the same until I finally had the right woman wake me up to my own sexuality and realized that men could elicit a physical reaction, but never really turned me on the way women do. Only she can decide what her sexuality is, but at your age I wouldn't try to label anyone, but be open to the possibilities and date whoever makes you feel good about you.

Your friend is lesbian or bi. If she wasn't she wouldn't have went back to "barb" like she did. If it was just curiosity she would not have went back the 2nd time. Just give her time to understand herself. Just let her know you are still her friend no matter what & no matter how long it takes for her to realize.
